 | I'm not really a muralist but an architecture student which happened to be on vacation and was tasked by a local church to create an interior mural. Since I have no experience of painting large walls, I have several questions which I thought the experience muralists here could give me wisdom on.

Somebody remembers that video where a writer pranks censorship of his murales over and over again many times retaking drawings like 10-15 times?

I'm thinking of going around London sticking my art to some walls.
I've seen a few of them around my area, and would love to know what type of adhesive they use. What do you use if you have experience doing something similar?
Currently I have PVA with me, but not sure if this is ideal.

Hello! I was just wondering about what other artists use to transport their caps with them, and how many you typically bring with you? I haven't really seen anything ever about this and am curious about what people do.
I currently use a small square Tupperware container, and carry way more than I ever need lol, about 20-25.

I’m painting a parking spot for my senior year and wanted to know any weatherproof paint brands you would recommend. Price isn’t much of a problem but place to get them is. If they’re at any general hardware stores like Lowe’s or Home Depot that would be best. Thank you!

Has anyone out there had any experience with mineral paint? My mom and I are going to do a mural on a 600 sq ft concrete floated wall which is heavy pounded by the sun all day. I thought this would be a perfect medium because of the exposure, however, it is really hard to find information on people who have used it. Any tips/tricks/lessons learned/experiences with it? Any thoughts from frequent muralists?

Hello Street art afficianados globally. I started a pet project over the pandemic that I am now trying to manifest into reality. I've been collecting images of a single street artist around Frankfurt that I want to turn into a webmap to share the locations of the artist's work. I've been in contact with them, and they are supportive of the concept.
As I'm in the early stages of development, I wanted to crowd source ideas here for features that street art fans might want to see in such an app

Sorry if this is not allowed I don’t know where else to post this! I’m painting my first mural on a 40ftx 9ft shipping crate and I’m looking for some tips. I have always painted with watercolour and acrylics so this is going to be a totally different project but I know I can still transfer my technical skills to this project. I’m not looking for tips on how to paint but maybe tips on like common mistakes, brands of paints to use, things to avoid etc

I’m running for Miss California and will be speed painting with spray paint as my talent. I’m looking to throw a street art style painting to increase appreciation for this art style. Hi all,
My friend invited me to do a mural on the utility box next to her house. Before I jump into this work, I would like to know if anyone had any experience with that. Does anyone know if in Toronto we are allowed to paint a street utility box? I'm familiar with some city programs that invite artists to do this kind of work, which is pretty cool, but I've seen that they closed this program for now.
I was wondering if we need any permit before painting the box

Being commissioned to paint a giant superhero/ video game character/ villian mural. I was wondering about the legality of that. The idea is to put opposing sides facing one another, incorporating marvel, and dc heroes, as well as some anime, and video game favorites. Should i be scared? Should i pass this one up?

I paint murals like these - https://imgur.com/a/F2xPetm - so I am highly dependent on the colour being exactly as the one in the project. The problem is that lately many online colour pickers became stupidly expensive and the free versions are mostly HEX, CMYK or RGB.
There used to be the free version of now not existing NCS Navigator. There are some paid mobile versions like Colourpin that loose most of the functionality without 500 € tool.
I also do have a NCS and RAL colour paper samplers

Hi! Are any of you artists in New York? I had someone reach out to me about doing a mural on a building in Brooklyn. I’ve never done a mural before and am wondering if I should hire someone out to do it. It’s just a quote. Black words on a white background so I imagine it would be relatively easy. I am also open to helping, I have just never done this before and don’t even know where to start.

Hello everyone, I am not a street artist but more of a tech guy. I was thinking of scanning great street art pieces to make 3d models that could be sold as crypto art.
I would like to split the income (if any) with the artist but I am not sure how to proceed. I was thinking of asking around but what can I do if I don't find him or I am not able to get in touch? It feels unethical to sell something someone created without their permission....

As title says, I need walls. Because of my job, I can do only legal pieces. (Company associated with local government, and will be a massive drama if I am caught)
What I’ve tried and looked at so far: Legal sites. Have a few of those in a city but it is one of two scenarios. It either has some really nice pieces, and my arm won’t raise to paint over them, or the site will get trashed and everything capped by kids within a fortnight. And it can take me more then one weekend to finish.

I've volunteered to do a mural and I just wanted to know which materials everyone else has been using. I need spray paints and regular paints that will survive the fluctuating weather conditions of Colorado, resist UV fading, etc.

I have this light up sign I got from my homies at the local bodega. I want to use it to create a piece of street art, but need it to light up without being able to plug it into an outlet. Looks like the book has been re-issues. I love his artwork, but I really love any of his artwork tied to DOOM and Hip Hop related themes. I am a muralist and a Realtor in San Antonio, Texas, so I consider myself an independent contractor. I usually do small street art murals & I normally charge around $500-$2000 for them. I was just recently asked to create a larger mural for a National Park. The budget is around 26k for the work, but I don't know how to go about getting a W9 to be able to accept payment and make sure I pay my taxes? I watched a video on the founder of Obey a while back, and one of the ways he got his brand known was by wheatpasting the logo everywhere. I'm considering wheatpasting the mascot of my brand everywhere, with the insta handle to my brand on it.
How risky would this be? I live in LA where police don't even show up if someone is actively breaking into your car, but I'm scared they'd track the Insta handle and charge me somehow. Not planning to paste on any city owned buildings of course. Most
