I am currently doing research on street art, its types, etc. More specifically, my topic is "Street Art and Reconciliation (After Genocide)". After a short search I couldn't find anything relevant. Hi everyone.
I've been working on an art project over winter, and I have made ten pictures using mixed media. I would like to scan the pictures, print them off online and paste them up around town.
There seems to be innumerable ways of printing, and I would like to know which type of print I should use for a wheat paste up? For example, what type of GSM etc.

I want to go to a somewhat run down ghost town and do a few murals based on the local community, how do I go about the permitting? I did some research but it seems vague, from what I’ve seen I obviously need permission from the property owner but it also says a $50 fee, scaling drawings & a rough sketch of the mural.

This might be the wrong sub, but I'm hoping to get some advice.
I'd like to start dabbling in murals, starting out pretty modest in size. My plan is to work digitally first and then use a projector onto a wall to paint my art. My first project will be indoors so the projector doesn't have to be super bright, just reasonably bright.
What am I looking for when it comes to projectors? I've seen some ~£250 projectors that look like they'd do the job but I don't want to buy a projector that ends up

So - I live in a poor neighborhood. For more than a year there was this government building with a cracked glass door. It was a huge crack, very unattractive, kids would have to push on this glass door to get into the building, which didn't look super safe, but it was clear that while the government would have likely quickly replaced this door had it been in one of the wealthier neighborhoods, they were happy to just let it make the neighborhood look ugly in a poorer neighborhood.

How did you got into characters?

I 'm 35, female, paint abstract art and have wanted to try street art forever.
I recently separated from my husband of 10 years and I'm fully immersing myself in the "fuck it" phase of a break up - doing the things I always wanted to do but for whatever reason didn't. Shepard Fairey in Exit through the gift shop used to go to a place to print huge on thin paper, I used to have a place like that in England until it went under, I found it by mistake.

So around 10 years ago somewhere in the middle America there was art exhibition and the opposing crew came and pichacaoed the whole place. They mostly used red and black paint as I remember. I think that it was in Mexico but I remember the style and it was Brazilian pichacao. Anyone remembers that? I am searching for any sources online and am unable to find any info on that.

Hi guys, I’m returning to the world of art after some time away. I really want to start making street pop art like the ones with an abstract background, words written in graffiti, flyers stuck on, with images of a character/person from pop culture (Mickey Mouse, Biggie Smalls, Marylin Monroe etc.) but I’ve heard that you need a license to actually use a lot of these images due to them being protected by copyright. I am putting up a paste-up piece soon which is intended to be temporary - but I want to add some longetivity to it. It will be in a location which has high sun in the summer and also rain/snow in the winter.
I have read of people adding a varnish over the paste up (after drying) and also adding wood glue to the paste up mix. I'd love to know people's experiences with this and other mixes.
Currently I am experimenting with a stone varnish over the top of 80gsm paper, stuck down with a wheat mix

Obviously large walls without windows are in short supply. Specifically the aspect needs to be about 2 wide to 1 tall, and the wall must be viewable unobstructed, preferably in London or large city.

I recently acquired a building a little north of Chicago with endless wall space that is all fair game. The walls are all varying heights of 9ft to 16ft. If there are any local Midwest artists interested, I'm willing to purchase all paint and give you full creative freedom.

I see these videos on youtube and some people are just straight up painting in public. Do people just not care enough to call the cops or do you get permission from the property owner beforehand? I would love to do some street art but I’m so paranoid lol.
