When a street artist who works under the name Buffalo Pothole Bandit took to Reddit to ask which potholes he should fill during a trip to New Orleans, he was repeatedly met with the same answer: take your pick.

“Throw a stick in any direction and odds are it will land in one,” one Reddit commenter replied.

The bandit, who said he prefers to stay anonymous because his work “is a crime in most jurisdictions,” said he thoroughly enjoyed his first trip to the Crescent City. He filled more than 30 potholes over the course of his trip.

“There are so many bright colors everywhere and whimsical aspects are woven into everyday life,” he wrote in an email. “I’m hoping to bring some of that energy and inspiration back to Buffalo.”
