![]() | Spotted these in Budapest June 2024 and hoping to see the rest on my next visit. The last one, the Axe, has a cool story. In 2019 Kolodko placed an Ushanka (Russian Hat) on a pillow mini-statue in this same spot, as a statement on continuing Russian influence in Hungarian politics. A far-right politician doing far-right politician things cleaved the statue from its place with an axe and threw it into the nearby Danube River. Kolodko responded with this Axe on a pillow where the hat had been. As of 2023, the Ushanka Returns as a mini statue of a Russian hat with a frog’s legs in a different location. (I first learned about these from Attila, the founder of Budapest Flow, which is a tour company that specializes in street art tours in Budapest. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the work that it brought a whole new level to my normally solo amateur street art hunting. Highly recommend. [link] [comments] |
No mod pettiness there at all, really... If my posts here are of not of a calibre expected, or I violate an obscure interpretation of community standards or rules, please let me know what exactly the premise is. I won't be cuntified.
![]() | Alien.. monster things that are painted by Abyss607. For some reason, just love the designs he went for his monsters, and having different graffiti monsters hidden around the place for people to find is a pretty cool concept. [link] [comments] |
