Hi all Street-Art lovers!

I'm myself a big fan of walking around the cities and exploring great murals around. However I was always disappointed because there were no good app to check up-to-date (well, even any) murals around. Usually what you could find is some google map with markers which was updated 2-5-10 years ago. To make it even worse, for each new city it would be some different map (or even just a text description!).

You'll say "But what about streetartcities/streeet.art/you name it?". Well, they might be good for some places, but not good for other cities or countries. What makes my service different?

  • It's global. I'm not focusing on a single city, regions, country or part of the world. Doesn't matter where you are - artworks from South America, Africa, Europe or Asia - everything is welcome.
  • The data is open. While to get started and avoid "blank map" in the beginning I did take some points from OpenStreetMap, in no way my app is "fancy Overpass UI". Everyone can export* the points and be able to import them in their favorite navigation app or whatever. I am not claiming ownership on your contributions. I believe "map of every street-art" must be open for everyone.
  • Anyone can sign up and start adding new artworks, or adding photos to existing ones, or adding comments or reporting issues. I've seen services where only "editors" can add new artworks and I do not think it makes any sense. If you walk around and notice the new mural - take a photo and post it. Easy.

Of course it's very early stage, many cool features might be not there yet (*like export), but I already used it myself during a few street-art focused walks and I love it! Check it out and let me know what do you think - https://mural.place/

Jonathan
